Published May 2, 2015 by BrittanyShawnte

After a long wait, Kate Middleton and Prince William’s second Royal Baby has arrived!

According to E! Online, the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a baby girl, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, (ahhh a little princess!) at St. Mary’s Hospital in London on Saturday morning! Kensington Palace announced: “Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daughter at 8:34 a.m.” Very weird wording but we get it!

William and Kate’s daughter is fourth in line to the British throne, behind Prince Charles, William and big brother Prince George of Cambridge.

We will be updating this post as more info comes out!

SPOTTED: Kate Middleton and Prince William Arrive in NYC

Published December 8, 2014 by BrittanyShawnte

Royalty has arrived to the States! Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton arrived in New York City Sunday, Dec. 7!

According to Us Weekly, the royal couple is currently staying at the Carlyle Hotel in Manhattan‘s Upper East Side. “It’s good to be here,” William told the hotel’s managing director Giovanni Beretta before being escorted to his suite. William’s own mother, the late Princess Diana was a great fan of the hotel during her trips to the States in the ’90s.

It’s not all fun and games for the couple, of course. They’re going to be very busy with meetings and events during their stay! Shortly after their arrival, they headed to a private event for the American friends of the Royal Foundation.  Today, Dec. 8, Prince William will travel to Washington, D.C. to meet with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden at the White House and then off to the World Bank to discuss illegal wildlife trafficking.  He will then fly back to NYC and check out a Brooklyn Nets basketball game at the Barclays Center (no word if Kate will be in attendance, but it would be a fun date night!).

Hoping that Prince William and Kate enjoy their stay!

Kate Middleton and Prince William Plan Royal Baby Tour

Published July 9, 2013 by BrittanyShawnte

Well this is different! The Duchess and Duke of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and Prince William, will show off their coming newborn when the family embarks on a royal baby tour in spring 2014! “The trip is planned for Australia and New Zealand,” a source told Us Weekly.

Kate’s due date is in TWO days on July 11, but she said herself in April, “babies have their own agenda.” Regardless, news of the birth will be revealed via a framed announcement placed on a wood and gold easel behind the gates of Buckingham Palace. The couple and their staff have done an amazing job in keeping details about the royal babe private, but eventually they will share with the public.

“While it is a deeply personal and private event, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge realize this is a time of national celebration and that there will be vast interest in the baby,” a spokesman said back in June. “They realize many people will want to share in their happiness.”

After the baby is born, William will take a two-week paternity leave before heading back to the Royal Air Force. Kate and the baby will travel between London and her parents’ home in Berkshire.  In September, the family will move into Kensington Palace’s Apartment 1A, where Kate has been busy working on the baby’s nursery.

I’ve never heard of a royal baby tour before, but then again, I’m not from England! But just about every celebrity, political, or royal couple have, in some way, shared intimate details and shown pictures of their bundles of joy, so why should this royal couple be any different? I look forward to seeing the little one! I wish I was still down in Australia to actually be a part of this…Back to Aussie 2014?!

Official news from the St. James Palace! Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting a baby!!!

Though rumored for a few days now, the news was officially announced today by the palace. “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby,” the palace said in a statement. “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news.” The statement continued: “As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.” The duchess was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital today in central London with hyperemesis gravidarum, an acute morning sickness which requires supplementary hydration and nutrients.

Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress Draws Record Crowds

Published October 4, 2011 by BrittanyShawnte

Kate's Wedding Dress Draws Record Numbers | Kate Middleton
The intense craze over the Royal Wedding is slowly dwindling down, with the close of the display of Kate Middleton’s beautiful wedding dress at Buckingham Palace. The dress had been on display this summer until now, from late July to October 3. Of course, the dress drew in a record number of visitors. According to PEOPLE, while exact numbers are not available, a rep at the palace says that more than 600,000 people came through to see the dress!

A spokesman for the Royal Collection, which organizes the annual exhibit of all things British royalty, said, “It is an incredible figure. It is easily a record. We were thrilled to welcome people from all over the world and delighted it has been such a huge success.”

Kate’s wedding dress is now headed to storage. According to a palace source, Kate is “keen to ensure that the dress survives undamaged for as long as possible, and so this inevitably means limiting the number of times that it is transported or displayed.”

Of course Kate’s dress would get this many visitors, which is said to be about 200,000 more than royal dresses past. Just about everyone was obsessed over this wedding! How many of you actually woke up early to watch it on TV? I know Aussies were crazy about it too. When I was visiting Sydney during a break, the hostel I was staying at even had a party dedicated to the wedding!

Kate Middleton’s Dress on Display at Buckingham Palace

Published July 22, 2011 by BrittanyShawnte

The Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine, still known to the world as just Kate Middleton, married Prince William in April. Her wedding dress will now be on display at Buckingham Palace for the palace’s annual summer opening for public tours. According to PEOPLE, starting Saturday, about 643,000 tickets will be available to tour the Palace. The tours will run until Oct. 3 and cost $28.50. (That’s definitely way less than I was expecting!) A tour of the palace includes 19 state rooms, a special Royal Fabrege exhibit and a walk in the south side of the garden.

However, everyone will most be excited to view the exhibits on the wedding. Not only will Kate’s ivory and white dress, created by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. stand under lights in the Ballroom of the Palace, but there are other features of the wedding seen as well. In rooms where the wedding celebrations took place, visitors will see handcrafted bridal shoes by the team at Alexander McQueen (size 8, with three-inch heels) and a replica of Kate’s bridal bouquet made of silk flowers by wedding florist Shane Connolly. There will also be a film about the creation of the dress, featuring Sarah Burton. The state dining room features the tiered wedding cake, which looks almost like it did on the wedding day itself.

Wish I was in England right now! I wasn’t completely obsessed with watching the royal wedding, but I saw bits and pieces. That dress was absolutely stunning on Kate! It’s nice that the Palace will feature different parts of the wedding to the public who is dying to see everything. I know the tourists will eat that up!
